Worthless without the first book in the trilogy. (05 October 2009)
The StarRigger trilogy is by far the best books I have ever read, but this is the second in the series and doesn't make much sense unless you have read the first book. Don't waste your time getting this until the first book is released on Kindle. When that happens, bump it up to four stars. You also need the last book (Paradox Alley) to complete the story, but no biggie since you can still find it used in print. When the whole series is on Kindle, give it five stars.

Only the 2nd book available? (08 January 2009)
How can only the 2nd book be available for the kindle? This is a trilogy, a great one, in my opinion... but the 1st, Starrigger, and the last Paradox Alley make this 2nd book irrelevant. I'd buy all three for the kindle, as I read them every couple of years. I give three stars out of five for the two missing books. Together, they're all a five. This is a great series, and I recommend them highly. Very different. I think these are Dechancie's best books, and they come before the Castle Perilous series... of which I enjoyed the first five or so... but that's for another review.

Part two of the timeless 'Skyway' between the stars saga. (05 March 1999)
Having read the first book, 'Starrigger', finding this next book of the story was like opening a door into true wonderment, so much that I went back and reread the first one....followed by reading this one again! Only after I had finished both that once again set out to find the next book. A very good read...one that stays with you!

Great read, needs first and third in series to fill out (21 June 1998)
This book is a great sci-fi read, but the first and third in the series are critical so that you're not lost. It reads well as a standalone, if you don't mind that fact, but as a trilogy, this book and Starrigger and Paradox Alley make a fantastic weekend read.
