| | Customer Reviews: Meticulous Review of the Court's Movement Away from the Constitution and Toward Judicial Activism (11 August 2010)Mark Levin has organized this book with each chapter focusing on a major issue that has been decided by the Supreme Court, starting with the concept of Judicial Review, moving to Abortion, Religion, Immigration and Freedom of Speech to name a few. He covers all the hot topics of Constitutional Law. The details provided by Mr. Levin of each case, the decision and written opinions are meticulous and easy to follow with extensive notes. He lays out his argument that the Court has been moving away from using the actual Constitution as a basis in deciding cases for decades in a thought provoking and convincing manner. Over and over he illustrates, through case study, how the Court has ignored our founding document and many times, their own precedent, to adjust the outcome of the case to fit the justices' own social, moral or political beliefs. This is a very methodical and well written book for those who are interested in seeing how the Court, over the years, has given themselves the ability to create, shape and legislate new laws from the bench. It is also a good read for all those people who wonder if elections really matter.Men in Black: How the Supreme Court Is Destroying America What Every American Should Read (08 August 2010)I want to thank Mark for the extensive research he put into this book. It has been years since I took a History class in school, but you're never too old to learn. This was an exceptional book that I read in two days while on vacation, and believe me I'm not a reader. I found myself glued to the book learning things about back room dealings and that senator's and congressman are more loyal to their colleagues than to our constitution. No surprise here but when you actually see it, you get sick from all the lying. Especially from Senator's Leahy and Kennedy, who both thought they were above the constitution and the law. I think the founding fathers would be appalled to know that judges in our country are comparing what other countires are doing in their rulings, rather than comparing the facts in each case to what is written in our constitution. I learned that there is absolutely nothing in our constitution or in the articles of confederation about separation of church and state, but it is a standard that is applied daily in all kinds of court challenges. I also learned that for years each state handled their own immigration policies because states are sovereign and that the states came first. The Federal government was created by the states, not the other way around. You won't hear this from any current politicians but the facts are the facts. I think this book is an outstanding piece of literature that every American should read and once again I thank Mark Levin for sharing this information about our history. (22 June 2010)This is the single most comprehensive and best written book I have ever seen on the Supreme Court and highlights brilliantly the problems that have and may happen when the court looses it focus and oversteps its bounds. Mark Levin is SICK AND TWISTED, BUT he is right about ONE thing - (24 January 2010)The "conservative" Supreme Court *THAT HE APPROVES OF* is destroying the United States. Any of you ignorant and pinheaded fans of his feel like calling him up and asking him if he feels that it is OK that HIS BELOVED RIGHT WING COURT just decided that corporations should be free to spend as much money as they want to decide who gets elected and who doesn't, and what becomes law and what doesn't - essentially legalizing bribery of our Congressmen? There is NO hope for you as a human being if you now fail to see how COMPLETELY full of $#!t Mark Levin is. Make NO mistake - he is brainwashing you if you believe the c#ap he spews. | |
